Biography
After studying acting at DAMU, she joined the company at the Petr Bezruč Theater in Ostrava, where she worked with director Jan Kačer (The Brothers Karamazov, Hamlet, The Seagull, Lovers from the Kiosk). She also began appearing regularly on television and in films (Hospital on the Outskirts, How Rosemary Grows, Where the Early Bird Lands, Life at the Castle, The Conception of My Younger Brother). From 1981, she worked at the legendary Ypsilonka Theater. She starred alongside her daughter Marta in the drama Children of the Night (2008, dir. M. Pavlátová). For her performance in this film, she won a Czech Lion Award for Best Supporting Actress.
