Biography
I graduated from the Higher Vocational School of Performing Arts in Prague under the guidance of Aleš Bergman and Eva Prchalová. While still a student, I began rehearsing with Jan Kačer at the Kalich Theater, and for the next 13 years (until 2025, when Barťák sadly passed away), I was part of the drama production *My Play*. Under Mr. Kačer’s direction, I later also performed in the production of Karel at the Kolowrat Theater, which at the time was still part of the National Theater; aside from these “well-known institutions,” I appeared in several productions by the La’My theater troupe and participated in various smaller projects, which I unfortunately don’t remember much about anymore.
I also began my film career while still a student, through the classic experience of making student short films of varying quality (SVOŠF, FAMO, FAMU). I’ve acted in several short films as part of the 48 Hours project, and with our latest film, *Good Catch*, we won the Best Movie award at the international finals in 2020, experiencing our few minutes of short-film fame.
I have repeatedly participated in acting classes for international directing students as part of FAMU International, completed an acting workshop with Nancy Bishop—and generally just threw myself into whatever opportunities came my way.
I also appeared in a few guest roles in several Czech TV series, such as Modrý kód (a heartbroken mother, three suicide attempts) and Specialisté (a heartbroken wife).
For about two years, I worked as part of the crew on international film shoots for Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc., where I got to, for example, catch a glimpse of Ryan Gosling and observe the entire filmmaking process from the other side.
